Designer Marc Jacobs breaks the mould and is working on his own designer plus size collection!

We have been waiting for this day for decades!  We have accessorised in every department including hand bags, jewellery, hats and shoes.  We have preened our barnets and nails.  We have worn their fragrances yet we have always been barred from entering the changing rooms with their designer plus size outfits on our arms.

This month Marc Jacobs has announced that he is working on a collection for plus sizes and I feel relieved and angry at the same time.  The collection should take another 12 months before it is ready but lets face it we have been waiting for this day for centuries, another 12 months isn’t going to kill us is it?

If Marc Jacobs opens his doors to us larger ladies, how long will it be before other designers follow?  Can you imagine Plus size Prada, Plus size Chanel, Plus Size Alexander Mcqueen.

With Plus size collection must come plus sized models, there will be more acceptability for a modern woman on the runway.  I really think this is a massive step forward.

I am really proud that Marc was one of the first to take this step and have emailed him to thank him for his bravery .  I just kind of wonder what took them so long, its a great business decision as he will have a captive market as he is the only one out there doing it just yet

I guess we should all start saving up now!  Lets support this guy, the more we make his collection a success the more likely the other designers are to follow!  Here we come Plus size Versace!

Glycemic index (GI),  means the effect of food on your blood sugar levels.  Foods with a high GI content such as sweet snacks and sugary drinks, quickly raise your blood sugar levels,  whereas foods with a low GI content released energy slowly and over a longer period of time!

The advantages of eating low GI foods are, they keep you fuller longer and as there is less sugar it your bloodstream, it forces your body to use stored fat as its energy source. :-) Fat Cell be gone!

An inflated blood sugar level is one of the causes of Diabetes, so it’s a good idea to try to keep those blood sugar levels down as much as possible.  And following this diet has a real impact on your waist to!  (win-win)

We love getting your questions here at Suddenly Slim, because it means we haven’t covered something properly!!  and I received this question this morning!!

“How much weight can you generally lose each week. What type of foods will you be eating? Is it calorie or point counting die
t?”

ANSWER: Regarding how much weight you can generally lose each week? This is dependent on how much you have to lose. For example, I was about 19 stone when I started Suddenly Slim and I lost 7 pounds in the first week. I continued at that rate for 8 weeks and then I started slowly down to 4 or 5 pounds a week.

I lost 5 stone in just over 12 weeks but I had a lot to lose!! If you are smaller the rate will be less, we generally expect people using our product to lose between 3 and 4 pounds per week provided the instructions are followed etc.

How it works: - Suddenly Slim diet pill is an appetite suppressant, therefore, you will be less hungry than normal. It contains, Gurana which is rich in caffeine to give you energy.

We also recommend the Suddenly Slim GI Diet to ensure your blood sugar levels remain constant, this prevents food cravings and help speed up your metabolism. The food we recommend to eat are low GI foods such as root vegetables, fruit, brown rice and most importantly, to eat regularly, at least 5 times a day.

We are not really into counting here at Suddenly Slim  (calories/points) we base our GI Diet on portion control (the size of your hands) , this is the simplest way to work out what size your portions should be and  it takes into account the differences in dietary needs of men and women, as well as children. Hi All,
I’m so excited about my new oil sprayer,  I just had to blog about it!!   My best friend told me about the Prepara Deluxe Oil Mist Sprayer, because by was complaining about not being able to have my beloved Full English Breakfast anymore :-(
I have denied myself the joy all of two sausages, two bacon and a fried egg for over six months.  I just couldn’t justify all those calories,  but now I can.   This morning I made of full breakfast with one spray of olive oil!!
My biggest downfall with all of my diets is portion control.  I have learned the hard way,  Do not measure by eye.  I have a special cup for my carbs, (rice,pasta) only serve myself a pam full of proteins as per the Suddenly Slim GI rules and now I can control the oils I use in cooking as well.
You can get away from using oil in cooking, be it for your spaghetti bolognese, risotto or to grease the bottom of a baking tray. I have always wacked one tablespoon of oil for pretty much everything, now I’m cooking with one 16th of the amount of oil, and the food is not burning :-)
The Prepara Deluxe Oil Mist Sprayer, can be filled up with any oil of your choice, so you can have your meals exactly the way you want them.  I have already ordered another two spayers because I want one for my sesame seed oil for my Chinese dishes and and I want one for chili oil to add a bit of spice to my low fat chicken fajitas.

I used to think my weight gain was as a result of having a slow metabolism!  All my friends ate just like I did and never seemed to put on weight?  I though it was just my genes, both my parents were large and so were the portions in our house!!  So, I kind of figured I was always destined to be big.

But, when I go up busy researching the whole area of slimming, I realised that y metabolism can be trained to speed up.

There are 3 basic factors that determine your metabolic rate.

The first one is the amount of calories your body uses every day, in general, that is 2500 for men and 2000 for women.  Now, I’m 5 feet 10, so I get away with a few extra calories a day.  Have a look at your figure, your height, the size of your frame, the size of your hands etc. and make your best guess about what your calorie intake should be daily.

The second factor is your basal metabolic rate.  This is the rate your body uses energy for vital body processes.

And third is the amount of energy you use during physical activity.

That the science bit, what does this mean, in short, you can jumpstart your metabolism.  You’re not destined to have a low metabolism for the rest of your life, it is completely in your hands and it all starts with breakfast!

Having breakfast is the easiest way to kick off any diet and get quick weight loss results.  I know some of you find it really hard, but it’s all about routine.  Start with something lite, in the Suddenly Slim G. I. diet book, they is some smoothie ideas, which is always a great place to start.  Once you get used to having breakfast, it’s easy, because within weeks, you’ll be getting out of bed, desperate for something to eat!!  And best of all, you’re burning calories straightaway; you’ve kick start your metabolism! If you do nothing else on a diet, do this!

Another great way to speed your metabolism is exercise.  Particularly exercise that involves building muscle mass.  I assume, you don’t want to become a bodybuilder, but there are many easy things you could do to tone up!  Think of all been lifting and carrying you do, how many times a day you walkup the stairs!!  Try to walk at your local shop and  carry the bags back instead of using car!  Lift some children, this is great exercise, I spent most of my time lifting and moving children around my house. (If you don’t have children , borrow someone else’s!!)

Try to be very conscious of all the activities you do in your general life and give it just a bit more Welly!  And your muscles will become longer lender and more toned as a result. And that metabolism will speed up its no time.

Being 13 stone, at age 19, it’s fair to say, I was never going to be an International Olympic gymnast or figure skater.  Exercises never come naturally to me, it’s not that I was lazy!  It was never something I wanted to do!   Also, I always a loved my food, eating that always come naturally!   I suppose this is my challenge, just like many of you out there. If we were programmed to be in the gym for hours a day, we wouldn’t need diet products!!!

That’s why I love being part of Suddenly Slim.  Suddenly Slim is for people who have tried everything to lose weight, gone through the guilt of the failed diets, the ever expanding waistline, the self loathing……  the works.

My journey from 20 stone wasn’t easy.  Anyone who says, losing 5 stone in 3 months, is easy, are lying to you.  Anyone who tells you, you could lose weight in 24 hours or 48 hours, or 72 hours using their product are lying to you.  Appetites suppressants reduce the amount of food that you crave, but there’s always the old eating habits to deal with!  I was addicted to eating.  I had to learn how to eat properly and not as a result my moods.  I used to feel so bad about my weight, to make myself feel better I would eat more, and then the guilt would come and then I would eat more again.  It’s kind of like being a hamster on one of those little wheels going round and round and round in circles.

Hi All

I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl 8 weeks ago.  I have mastered the sleepless nights, constant feeding and learnt what each cry now means.  Now to tackle the biggest challenge of all, how to lose baby weight?………….

I know all about weight loss considering I lost 6 stone before I got pregnant.  What I wasnt ready for was how much weight I would put back on again during the pregnancy, I ate healthily all throughout but still managed to gain approx 4 stone!!!  I had problems in the pregnancy with a broken pelvis which limited my activity and ended up with gestational diabetes.

Being a new mummy certainly keeps you busy, I must say though it is the best job in the world.  Gracie Lou and I are doing well and enjoying our time at home.  I do wonder where my day goes…..  I wouldnt change it for the world, but babies do create a lot of extra work!!  I am determined to ensure I have a good life balance.  A lot of mums I know are struggling to find time to shed their baby weight, thinking that the tradiotional methods are best, but exactly how does a mum have time to work, keep the house in order, keep the family in order, get to the gym, go to the local slimming club and find time to sleep!!!  They DONT…  Usually they give up on the least essential, the diet.  I am so pleased I was introduced to Suddenly Slim UK.  I am walking proof that it works, it takes no time out of your day and most essentially it is fast acting and provides you with extra energy.  What more recommendation do you need?

I am planning to start back on the tablets on Monday.  This will give me 5 solid days to get back into the swing of things before next weekend.  You’d be mad to start a diet on a World Cup Saturday!

Making healthier substitutions to your favorite meals is one of the BEST ways to lose weight. Substituted egg whites for whole eggs,, lean ground turkey for red meat, juice instead of soda, and skim milk instead of whole milk.

Another great way to continue to eat the foods you love while still losing weight is to keep a careful eye on your portions.  For instance, if I were to measure out a cup of cereal, verses eyeball what I think a cup looks like, I will almost certainly get it wrong.

So keep an eye on your portions and substitute healthier foods when possible. Instead of having three pieces of pizza, enjoy 1 slice along with a filling salad and a lemon water. Instead of a huge piece of cheesy lasagna, enjoy 1 measured cup of whole wheat pasta with fresh tomato sauce and sprinkled parmesan.

Start eating an apple every day and eat a few servings of vegetables, small steps and look for ways to incorporate “super foods” in your diet such as beans, blueberries, broccoli, oats, oranges, pumpkin, salmon, soy, spinach, tea, tomatoes, turkey, walnuts, and yoghurt.

The most important thing to remember when losing weight is that you can make little changes that can add up to big results. !!

A recent study suggests that a healthy diet can add as many as 14 years to your life. So it is well worth it!
